Fun Fun Fun!!

Well, we did it, we bought a boat. We have always talked about the possibility of getting one and how much fun it would be but I think we both thought it would be a while. We found a 1992 Reinell at a great price, and then Alex even got them to lower it more so that was even better! It's in really good condition and runs great. We took it for a test drive on Friday morning and by that evening we had a boat parked in front of our house. It's kind of weird actually! The previous owners also gave us a couple pairs of skiis, some life jackets and an intertube with it. All the girls cared about was the tube!! Saturday morning we loaded up the boat and headed over to Leslie Groves to take it out. Needless to say the kids were VERY excited! The girls have been tubing quite a few times thanks to Dan and Wendy and their willingness to share their boat with my kids when we go to Charbonneau. They boys aren't quite ready to ride the tube yet and are just as happy to sit in the boat. We plan on buying a larger tube so the girls can lay down. Dan and Wendy have a Banzai, so that's what my girls want of course. We'll have to look at what's our there.
We're looking forward to lots of fun on the river this summer. I wouldn't mind learning how to ski again. I haven't done that since I was a teenager with church groups. But that will have to wait until next summer when I'm not pregnant.

Alex showed me all the things I need to do when I take the boat out. I already warned him that I would be taking it out during the week while he's gone. But I would like to take it out with him a few times until I'm more comfortable with the whole process. I wouldn't do it all by myself, I would take my sister with me, which will be fun!

So here's the pictures from our first outing on our very own boat. It's kind of hard to take good pictures on a bumpy boat and up close! We loved it!!

New Toy!!

Just a few random photos with our new camera. I told Alex a couple of months ago that I think I would like to have a nice digital SLR camera. That was all that needed to be said!!! It was kind of like that commercial where the wife says to her husband that she thinks it's time for a new TV. Then you hear the song in the background "I want it all!!!" So we are now the proud owners of the mother load camera. It's very nice. I don't even know how to use all the great features it has. I'm lucky to be able to take pictures with it and get them on my computer. It's not that hard really and I'll learn all the fun things with it soon enough.
What is it about the need to take pictures of kids while they are sleeping. I love it! Spencer crashed right in the middle of the living room after a day at the pool!
This was one of the first pictures I took with the new camera. It really is amazing at how nice the pictures do turn out with a better camera!
Our Rocky, all tuckered out at Charbonneau. Takes a lot of work to bark and jump around all day at everyone that passes by.
Spencer, what a ham! I would have settled for a nice smile too.
Cierra. Great camera! Not so great to see the close up of the dirty glasses.
As the boys were riding their bikes out front I took pictures of random things just to see how nice the camera would focus on different things. What nice toes I have. Again, the camera is so good that you can see every little crease and wrinkle on my feet. Too funny!

Tagged!! Unspectacular Quirks

Rules
1. Link the person who tagged you. Allie
2. Post these rules.
3. Tell about six unspectacular quirks.
4. Tag six fellow bloggers by link. (or less)

Well, I would have to agree with almost all of my sister's quirks as quirks of my own but here are a few of my own.

1. It does not bother me to talk about disgusting things during dinner (unlike my mother). Poopy pants, snot, hair in food, surgery channel, nothing, just doesn't bother me.

2. Allie and I are definitely our mother's daughter. I also can walk into a room and notice pictures that are crooked, be sitting in church and have it really bug me that a table cloth is not straight. Hate that!

3. I can wash and fold 20 baskets of laundry, no problem, but don't ask me to put them away!

4. This one goes along with number 3. I will load the dishwasher every time, just don't ask me to take them out and put them away, that's Allie's job.

5. My feet get so dry in summer from constant flip flop wearing that an orbital sander would do wonders on my feet.

6. Like my sister, I too need some chocolate during the day, followed by something salty, and then something sweet, and then something salty again. It's a vicious cycle I tell ya!!!

I tag: Dyana, Joy and Erika H. I don't have enough blogger friends.

I'm Not The Groomer

Rocky, our schnauzer, got into something that made him a little "crusty" in some places. I have no idea what it was, plus he was not smelling real great either! So I decided to give him a good brushing and a good scrubbing today. Let me just say that I would not ever want to be a groomer. For one, my allergies would not allow it, and second, how in the world they wash dogs without getting completely soaked is beyond me. Rocky goes to the groomer about once a month but today he totally acted like that was the first time he has ever been washed. I DO NOT like the way he looks when he's wet. He looks so scrawny!! Anyway, he does look better now that he's all clean and dry. And he smells better too!

This and That

Well, if any of you have not heard the news yet......Baby number 5 is on the way! Everyone keeps telling me that this will be the tie breaker. Two girls and two boys. I keep teasing Alex that it's twins. Ha ha ha. Of course the boys are hoping for a baby brother and the girls are keeping their fingers crossed for a baby sister. With the news of a new baby on the way comes the need for more space. We have our eye on a larger house and are hoping that everything goes as planned for that. I'll keep you posted.

Turtle News! While my parents were camping over Memorial Day weekend I was keeping watch on their house, bringing in mail and the paper, watering flowers and such. Then one day I made a very exciting discovery. I was watering the flowers under her front windows when a I saw a small turtle in the dirt. At first I thought it was a little figurine then figured it had to be real since my Mom doesn't buy that type of stuff. Sure enough, it was real and moving! After I picked up Mason from school I rushed him right over to see the turtle and he fell in love with that little guy. He wanted to keep him so bad!!! We just don't have room in our house for a turtle tank, contrary to Mason's opinion. He tried to come up with every possible place we could stash that turtle. So for the next few days we would stop by and check on him. When my parents returned from camping my Mom said she saw him crawling across the driveway and returned him to his spot in the garden, this happened twice. But he was bound and determined to travel so we have not seen the turtle since his last driveway crossing!

Wedding! Alex's sister, Teri was married on May 24th. It was a very beautiful day, the weather was great and everything turned out really nice. Spencer was so funny at the reception! A bunch of the Pospical group was sitting at a table when Spencer walks up and tries to take one of the chairs. When we asked him where he was taking it he simply replied that he was going to watch and see when Teri and Rich get married. We reminded them that they were married in the Temple earlier that day. Aunt Amy then suggested that maybe he watch and see if they kiss. Spencer sat in that chair staring at them in the receiving line for about 15 minutes waiting for them to kiss and finally gave up. Later in the evening he found a nice spot on the floor to continue his search for "the kiss." I had to let Teri in on Spencer's plan. Teri and Rich got a kick out of that and finally gave Spencer what he was waiting for. What a funny boy!

Oregon Trail. The fourth graders at Jason Lee Elementary have a unit where they study about the Oregon Trail and some Washington History. They get to visit the Whitman Mission for a day and they also go on their own "Oregon Trail" around the neighborhood. They are put in Families, make a flower sack baby, make covers for their wagons, and learn about many of the places those pioneers made stops at along the way. Then they head out on their trail. They have stops along the way and have to answer questions and make choices. I was lucky enough to get to witness these "pioneers" on their journey as they passed my homestead. I was also able to magically make it rain while they walked passed. I'm sure there were troubling times on their journey west. Hoses are a wonderful thing!
